Modern Architecture For Contemporary Living

Architecture should learn from the past, look to the future and live in the present. And never stop experimenting.

I believe we can learn from architecture that was created in the past and from what Roman mythology called the "genius loci", that inside voice that gives a certain location its own particular atmosphere to which we should listen and respect. If we listen, inspiration will come to us from a beautiful view, a single tree or the climate of a particular site, or the urban structure or local architecture of a certain town.

Looking to the future (and understanding its value) is what brought us to the present, to sustainable architecture."Green" is now more of a mainstream design approach rather than a simple concept. We should keep on looking forward and design for the long term and for flexibility of use, providing the users with healthy environment to live in.

Architecture should live in the present and accommodate our contemporary lifestyle. Modern, from the latin word 'modo', means 'related to the present'.

In addition, the present provides us with technologies to explore and to be incorporated into our project, with new forms and ideas that may be capable of passing the test of time and become, one day, pieces of architecture that someone could find inspiration from.
