During Construction
New concrete path and upgrade to existing deck in a WUI zone, Santa Cruz Mountains. The client's goal in rebuilding the existing deck was to minimize the fire risk. We exceed the requirements of the building codes and used steel posts and steel cross bracing elements for the decks, concrete and pebbles at the patio and to the entrance of the dwelling and fire resistant decking material. A new ADU is coming next.

Remodel/exterior upgrade of a single family residence in Los Gatos, CA.
Sun room conversion in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The original, not energy efficient, metal structure was converted into a room with folding doors capable of completely opening up the space to the outdoor patio. Completed.

An interesting structural design challenge lead to a light filled dining room and kitchen, complemented by the client's selection of finishes and fixtures. The existing flat ceiling was raised by adding a ridge beam, to create a vaulted ceiling, with the rerouting of mechanical ductwork, addition of skylights and new modified windows openings.

Approximate 400 Sq.Ft. addition and remodel of existing residence in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The client's goal for this project was to have additional livable space while improving light, views and privacy at the same time.
We worked together to overcome the constraints of a tight site (especially the setbacks from the existing leach field) and opened up the house to the beautiful redwoods surrounding it, while preserving the client privacy where needed.
